Security expert: the events of the Cathedral began after Abu Hamed’s meeting with Lebanese militia leader
Major General Abdel Hamid Omran, security and strategic expert, revealed that there was a meeting in Beirut between former People’s Assembly member Mohamed Abu Hamed and leader of the Christian militias in Lebanon Samir Geagea preceding the incidents of violence that took place in Egypt during the last few days.
During his interview on Amgad channel, Omran linked Abu Hamed and Geagea’s meeting with the violent incidents that took place in Egypt, and that ignited in a certain area inhabited by a Christian majority in the Qaliubiya Governorate and then moved to the Cathedral in Abbaseya.
It is clear that Geagea is a Christian militia leader in Lebanon and an international terrorist who killed three Lebanese prime ministers, and was notably sentenced to death and then released.
Omran accused Geagea and Abu Hamed of organizing armed unrest in Egypt, saying, “Abu Hamed posted a video a few days before the events showing him saying to Geagea, ‘You are our master and our inspiration,’” and after that the violence began in Egypt.
