El-Demerdash: we refused foreign funding for some groups aiming to spread perversion*
Counsellor Mohamed El-Demerdash, legal advisor to the Ministry of Insurance and Social Affairs has revealed that the Ministry recently rejected foreign funding for some non-governmental organisations and groups after their objectives were revealed.
El-Demerdash made clear during a discussion of the NGO law in the Shura Council that the Ministry has recently discovered the existence of foreign funding for some non-governmental organisations and groups with objectives that flout society’s rules and morals, such as supporting Bahai thought, and matters that flout Islamic principles such as perversion. This is in addition to some suspect, unconvincing funding such as LE 1 million sent to support a certain type of dog.
