Commenting on the killing of Shias in Abo Nomros…Doctor El-Barr: Unjust killing is prohibited

24/6/2013

Doctor Abdel-Rahman El-Barr, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Supreme Guidance Bureau said that it is not permitted to kill anyone without justification, pointing out that Islam considers blood sacred and it may not be spilt whatever the mistake committed.

He added, in press statements commenting on the Shia killings in the Abo Mosallem area of Giza, “we have a system and law for holding to account wrongdoers and those who incite strife. They may not be killed outside the framework of the law”.

El-Barr made clear that the individuals who committed this act are not Islamists who truly know the sanctity of Muslim blood, pointing out that students of knowledge know with conviction the sanctity of blood and the prohibition on killing a Muslim whatever mistake he committed.

He added, “Maybe it was [the Shia victims] who provoked the people by what they were doing and so the people wanted to kill them, but they had a duty to present him [sic] to the relevant authorities who would hold him to account for his actions within the framework of the law”.

Religious endowments in Assiut denies presence of Imam in Sodfa preaching Shia Islam

29/5/2013

Sheikh Ahmed Shehata, head of the Religious Endowments Authority in Sodfa, Assiut denied reports carried by some satellite channels and news websites that an Endowments imam is spreading Amidi Shia Islam in one of Sodfa’s biggest mosques.

“This has no basis in fact and is completely untrue. The matter is no more than bitter rancour and animosity between Sufi sects in competition for leadership of Sufi sects,” Shehata said.

He added, “there is no such thing as Amidi Shia Islam amongst the various Shia sects. The intention was to spread confusion about the mosque’s imam for purposes of this animosity and which are unconnected with the Endowments.”

“This Imam that they are talking about is one of the most disciplined in his sermons: the sermon from last Friday that they are talking about dealt with the extent of the danger posed to Islam and Egypt by the spread of Shia Islam,” Shehata added.

The Endowments head stressed that Sufis must distance their mosques and imams from disputes because we are fully aware of what goes in mosques and we are Sunnis and could never allow anyone to preach anything but Sunni Islam.

Doctor Wahdan: Al-Azhar is the fortress of Sunni Islam and there is no place for Shiism in Egypt

8/4/2013

El-Sharqeyya, Ahmed Mahmoud

Doctor Mohamed Taha, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Guidance Bureau and head of the Brotherhood’s pedagogy department affirmed that the Egyptian people and government will not accept the existence of the spread of Shia Islam in Egypt under any circumstances.

During his speech – given at a forum organised by the Muslim Brotherhood and Freedom and Justice Party in the town of Awlad Saqr, El-Sharqeyya, to clarify the vision of current events – Wahdan added that Jewish tourists, people without a religion and cow worshippers come to Egypt…Thus is it logical that a tourist would come for two days to spread his creed?!

He also added that Al-Azhar was founded in order to spread the Shia faith but has become a lighthouse and fortress of Sunni doctrine, and will remain so with God’s will.

He concluded his comments by mentioning the necessity of the Muslim Brotherhood immersing themselves in community work and fulfilling people’s needs, saying, “We want people to see our beneficence, and our motto in the current stage is, ‘a strong will untouched by weakness’”.

The forum was also attended by Al-Azhar University professor Doctor Mostafa Abdel-Halim, former MP El-Sayyed El-Atweel and Doctor Ali Salama Amin, secretary general of the Freedom and Justice Party in Awlad Saqr.
